About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal DSP candidate will have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on individuals' lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. This role involves fostering a sense of pride in individuals by teaching them daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry. Work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager. The role aims to enhance independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Nice To Haves

• Verifiable High School diploma/G.E. D preferred.
• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
• Teaching individuals daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry.
• Assisting individuals with daily and personal activities to enhance their independence.
• Performing work in accordance with appropriate procedures.
• Observing activities in progress, residents’ responsiveness, and inspecting living areas.
