About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team in NJ. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong desire to create long-term impacts on individuals' lives, enjoying encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. The DSP will spend their days in various settings, making memories with individuals by following their Individual Support Plan. This includes working on social and communication skills at the park and sensory gardens, enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and fostering a sense of pride by teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Prefer candidates have their own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
• Following the Individual Support Plan.
• Working on social and communication skills.
• Assisting with daily hygiene and personal care.
• Teaching individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.
