About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals for its program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings, helping them work toward personal goals and greater independence. Staff follow each individual’s Individual Support Plan and encourage, mentor, and coach individuals as they develop social and communication skills. Daily activities may include outings to parks and sensory gardens, assistance with hygiene and personal care, and teaching daily living skills such as housekeeping and laundry. No experience is required; paid training is provided. The available shifts are PRN.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Nice To Haves

• A verifiable high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience in a home health aide setting or a school setting working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow each individual’s Individual Support Plan.
