About The Position

Requirements

Must be 18+ years old.
Must have a current driver's license.
Must have a clean driving record (no DUIs in last 3 years; no more than 3 moving violations in the past year; no more than 1 preventable accident within the past 3 years).
Self-motivated, flexible, enjoy challenges, and willing to work as part of a team.
Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
Physically and mentally able to perform all requirements of the job.

Nice To Haves

Program development and implementation skills preferred.
Behavior support skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide support to individuals with disabilities.
Ensure participants' safety during seizures, emergencies, or transfers.
Assist with therapy regimes prescribed by a physician, such as range of motion exercises and utilization of various O.T./P.T. materials and/or equipment.
Move equipment/material handling, which may include up to 50-pound boxes, tables, and chairs; bending, stretching, and reaching to retrieve materials.
Assist participants to use the restroom, including transferring on/off a stool or from a wheelchair to a bed.
Train participants in vocational tasks, which may involve standing or leaning over a worker for up to 50-minute training sessions and meeting production/program demands requiring on-your-feet duty for up to 5 hours.
Assure participant safety with visual surveillance, auditory monitoring, and physical support.
Bend, kneel, reach, stoop, lift, and physically support/guide participants.
Provide emergency first aid care to participants, including all components of CPR.
Follow all safety rules and requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture and maintain a safe environment for customers/participants and co-workers.
Push wheelchairs and assist with other adaptive equipment during regular program activities and in emergency evacuations.
