Direct Support Professional (DSP) | Weekends
About The Position
Benchmark Human Services is a leader in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health services. They work with people of all ages through various programs including residential, employment, crisis response, and early intervention. The Branchburg office is seeking qualified and caring individuals to work as Direct Support Professionals (DSP/CNA/Caregiver/Home Health Aide) in their group homes in Branchburg, Bridgewater, and Somerset County, NJ. They also strive to be a workplace that honors the unique experiences and strengths of their employees. Successful applicants will attend paid training to obtain required certifications. No experience is necessary, as training is provided on-the-job. Professional experience working with developmentally disabled populations, or as a CNA, home health aide, or caregiver is relevant and can influence pay rates, which start at $20.75.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation
- Valid auto insurance and driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or equivalency
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities
- Create a supportive and clean home environment
- Support skill acquisition and enhancement as outlined in individual service plans (ISPs)
- Assist with daily living tasks and ensure cleanliness and organization
- Administer medications and follow healthcare protocols under nurse supervision
- Document client progress and goals
- Engage individuals in age-appropriate recreational and therapeutic activities
- Safely transport individuals as needed
- Work independent or with co-workers to enhance the growth of individuals served
- Participate in ongoing professional training
