About The Position

Skill Creations, Inc., a nonprofit agency, is seeking an active, playful Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a woman with autism in South Asheville. This role involves daytime services and overnight shifts from 6pm to 10am, with a pay rate of $175 per overnight shift (including sleep) and $20/hr during daytime services. The position is available for both part-time and full-time employment. The individual supported enjoys movies, bowling, mermaids, and karaoke, and values silliness and fun. A significant part of the role involves supporting her active lifestyle, which includes hiking, walking, and adaptive Crossfit to promote sleep and mental well-being. The job will take place at her apartment and in the community. Due to personal care needs, a female DSP is specifically sought for this position.

Requirements

High School, GED, or College Transcript
Valid NC Driver’s license and acceptable Driving Record
Personal vehicle for transporting client
Criminal Background Check
Completion of paid training in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management
Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic training modules, and data recording
Personal phone with internet access
Ability to lift 50 pounds, and to occasionally balance, bend, stoop, and kneel
Prompt and regular attendance
Ability to meet client-specific needs
