About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to share one's life on a daily basis with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Responsible for the overall support to individuals by teaching skills that foster independence and community integration. All individuals within the scope of their position are responsible to perform their job in light of the Mission & Values of the Health System. Regardless of the position, every job contributes to the challenge of providing healthcare. There is an ongoing responsibility for ensuring the values of Respect, Compassion, Justice, Hospitality, Holistic Approach, Stewardship, and Collaboration are present in our interactions with one another and in the service we provide.

Requirements

High school Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate data systems.
One year experience in a caregiver role (work/volunteer/or life experience preferred in the intellectual disabilities service system).
Ability to facilitate communication between internal and external customers
Excellent basic and persuasive communication skills
Must have a valid PA drivers license
Satisfactory background checks including but not limited to (Pennsylvania Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance, Act 34 Criminal Clearance and Act 73 FBI Clearance).

Nice To Haves

Life experience preferred in the intellectual disabilities service system.
