Oak Hill is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Residential Program Worker (RPW) to provide direct support to individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. We are seeking dedicated and energetic individuals who are interested in joining our team at Oak Hill. We have both part-time and full-time positions Direct Support/Personal Care positions available. This role is ideal for compassionate individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of residents with disabilities. The position offers flexible weekend hours and provides an opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on promoting independence and well-being.

Requirements

  • US Work Authorization
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift and assist individuals as needed
  • Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
  • Dependability, ability to maintain good attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience interacting with Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled population (does not need to be professional experience)
  • Previous experience in direct care or nursing services. Bonus if within Group Home settings
  • Relevant Certifications – ex: Med. Certification (CT), Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA, Certified Personal Care Aide/PCA, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care support including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
  • Support residents with medication administration and vital sign monitoring in accordance with care plans.
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition for residents.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and community integration.
  • Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to sanitation standards.
  • Document resident progress and incidents accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Foster a respectful, engaging atmosphere that encourages social interaction and independence among residents.
  • Assist colleagues and program leaders welcome new staff and supporting training of new hires and existing staff
