Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Direct Support Professional positions are available throughout Essex County, NY, offering a flexible schedule. This role involves actively participating in the planning and provision of all support services for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, including day habilitation, residential habilitation, at-home residential habilitation, job coaching, and respite. The position also includes providing guidance, emotional support, and crisis intervention, as well as developing meaningful in-house and community activities with an emphasis on age-appropriate activities and social experiences.
Requirements
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. Other equivalent training or certifications may be accepted.
- An individual must be flexible, enjoy working with people and have good communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience and training is desired but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the planning and provision of all support services for individuals served by Mountain Lake Services including day habilitation, residential habilitation, at home residential habilitation, job coaching and respite.
- Provide guidance, emotional support, and crisis intervention as needed.
- Play a key role in developing meaningful in-house and community activities with an emphasis on age-appropriate activities and social experiences.
