About The Position

We are hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Lakeside Program in Mullica Hill, NJ. This role is part of our Adult Residential department and operates on the 2nd shift, working Thursdays and Fridays from 2p-10p, and Saturdays from 10a-10p, totaling 28 hours per week. As a DSP, you will empower individuals with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities to reach their highest potential while supporting Bancroft's mission. This position offers a hiring range of $19.61-$20.00 per hour, plus additional incentives. Bancroft is a leading service provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities, or those in need of neurological rehabilitation. We are seeking passionate individuals to provide quality care in a positive and empathetic manner, with a strong desire to work with individuals with autism, intellectual, or developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License in the candidate’s legal name and current address.
  • One year minimum driving experience.
  • License should be in good standing and free of restrictions.
  • Minimum of six months related work experience OR Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a degree program in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.

  • Prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data.
  • Provide assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, social awareness, meal preparation, money management, and housekeeping.
  • Provide personal care and supervision, actively participating in the life growth of each individual.
  • Teach daily living and functional skills to help individuals achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive residential settings.
  • Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings.
  • Provide safe transportation for individuals.
  • Resolve problem behavior situations and provide intervention while adhering to Bancroft’s quality standards for safety and approved crisis techniques.
  • Complete paperwork and provide regular documentation as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with residents and their parents, guardians, and other family members.
