About The Position

Merakey is seeking Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team at their program in Redding, CA. This position provides direct support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities with co-occurring medical support needs in a residential setting. The role involves interacting with and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings, including community, family, individual homes, and generic community settings. The goal is to enhance the health, safety, dignity, and contentment of consumers by assisting and training them in personal care, communication, and social skill development.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) preferred.
High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients who live in the home.
Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, and companionship.
Help with ambulation, transferring, and range of motion exercises.
Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways.
Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading, and hobbies.
