Direct Support Professional MD-SM
About The Position
A 12-year-old male in the Syracuse area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with being active in his community and help him with choosing activities to his liking. He enjoys most of his time playing video games, jumping on the trampoline and swimming in the summer but also enjoys watching movies and looking at statutes in churches. He also enjoys being on his tablet, watching videos, and loves music. The ideal candidate is creative and engaging, active and patient, and willing to travel to different locations. The ideal candidate should be very active and willing to attend the YMCA. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency. Any day after 3pm.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
- New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the individual with being active in his community.

Benefits
- Starting pay is $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.
