About The Position

The Autism Treatment Center is currently hiring immediately for several positions due to growth. We are actively recruiting for Direct Support Professionals for our Residential Treatment Centers. Our mission of the Autism Treatment Center (ATC) is to assist people with autism and related disorders throughout their lives as they learn, play, work, and live in the community. Requirements

At least 6 months of caregiving/direct patient care experience with references
Valid Texas State Driver's License and have Auto Insurance
Reliable Transportation (Ride Shares and Public Transportation are not considered reliable forms of transportation)
Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, and SAMA certification
High School Diploma or equivalent
21 Years of Age
Ability to pass a background check and drug test
Ability to work with individuals who display aggressive behaviors

Responsibilities

Follow all Autism Treatment Center Policies and Mental Health Procedures.
Assist in the training of personal care, communication, recreation, housekeeping, dietary needs, and assist in self-medication or administration of medications.
Support the implementation of the Consumer Service Plan through the coordination of services.
Documentation: Medication Sheets, Incident Reports, Clinical Program Logs, Purchase Orders, Receipts, Medication Therapy Notes, Data Collection, Work Orders.
Act as liaison between parent/guardian, community, and ATC.
Stay in the living area of the home, a light must be on in the room during consumer sleeping hours.
Check/Supervise any consumer who gets out of bed.
Conduct and Document rounds each night at 10:00 P.M., 12:00 A.M., 2:00 A.M., 4:00 A.M., and 6:00 A.M at minimum. The House Manager may require more frequent rounds. (rounds include checking the consumer to ensure that he/she is sleeping normally)
Notify the House Manager of anything unusual
Conduct special supervisions of consumers required by medical orders, behavior programs, and/or the House Manager.
Complete special paperwork or do other assignments made by the House Manager/Residential Coordinator.
Documentation: Time Sheets, Certificates of Absence, Activity Schedules, and Fire Drills
Attend meetings and/or training as scheduled or required.
Assure adequate supply of medications for consumers.
This position involves tasks that expose you to blood, body fluids, and/or body tissues. All of the job-related tasks may involve potential exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, bodily fluids, or tissues, or the potential for spills and splashes of these fluids. Use of appropriate protective measures (Universal Precautions and Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures) is required for every employee engaged in this position.
