Direct Support Professional (San Marcos)
About The Position
The Arc of San Diego is hiring a Direct Support Professional to support adults with disabilities in a day center setting. In this role, you will help clients build independence, engage in meaningful activities, and develop essential life skills in a supportive environment. The Arc of San Diego is the largest and most comprehensive provider of services in San Diego County and is looking for dedicated individuals to join their diverse and dynamic team. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six (6) months of experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid California Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with case management systems (Therap preferred)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Previous experience in a caregiving or teaching role
Responsibilities
- Supporting clients in learning life, social, and personal care skills
- Assisting with daily needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility
- Leading engaging group and individual activities
- Documenting progress and ensuring accurate case records
