Direct Support Professionals teach, encourage, and support people with disabilities to live rewarding lives. This is an entry-level/early career position that can lead to a rewarding career. Direct Support Professionals play an important role within our organization and in the lives of the individuals we serve. PPCH is currently looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support our clients in a variety of areas. Thrive as a caregiver and each day you’ll provide meaningful, educational, and supportive services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving community-based services in a variety of settings. You will support an environment where our members receiving services are healthy, safe and valued by others by possibly assisting them with learning and exploring their community and their personal interests according to their person-centered support plan or personal goals. You will be assisting our members in services with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care and hygiene or moving to and from a wheelchair. You will also comply with all PPCH policies and the rules and regulations of all State and Federal oversight agencies, maintain respectful and professional relationships with our members receiving services, guardians, family members, team members and other staff members, and attend PPCH team, staffing, and interdisciplinary team meetings as needed or as requested.
