Direct Support Professional (DSP)
About The Position
Merakey is seeking mission-driven, compassionate, and reliable individuals to join our team in Wallingford, PA in our IDD Division. This role is for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who will work alongside a passionate team to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You’ll help them build independence, develop social and communication skills, and navigate daily living activities like personal care, housekeeping, and community engagement. This is an opportunity to start a meaningful career in human services, with no experience required as paid training is provided.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
- Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills
- Provide community support, transportation
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support (as trained)
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs
