Direct Support Professional Take A Break (MS-AS) (60199)
About The Position
A 7½-year-old non-verbal girl with autism and her family is looking for a Direct Support Professional to work with her in the Liverpool area for approximately 20 hours a month. The girl enjoys sensory play, art projects, jumping and climbing, outdoor activities, music, and social interaction. The ideal candidate should be patient, caring, and eager to learn. While experience with disabilities is a plus, it is not a requirement. The schedule is flexible, with a preference for afternoons and/or evenings to accommodate the child's sleep schedule. The family is open to any day of the week that works for the candidate, but afternoons and evenings are preferred as the child, Avalon, likes to sleep in. Avalon is homeschooled, allowing for flexibility outside of typical after-school hours.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with disabilities is welcome but not required.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
