About The Position
Indera (formerly ARISE/EFR) is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Liverpool area with a young girl. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff to assist her with maintaining her independence at home. The DSP will be providing her with respite over the Summer while she’s out of school. The individual is a generally happy girl who likes to be social. The individual enjoys swimming in her pool, camping, playing with her toys, watching movies, and watching shows. The individual benefits from someone who can encourage her and is comfortable going swimming. Applicants must be okay with dogs as the individual owns multiple. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic.
Requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community
- HS diploma/GED are required.
- Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire.
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of DSP experience preferred.
- Having valid CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the individual with maintaining her independence at home.
- Provide respite care during the summer while the individual is out of school.
- Encourage the individual and be comfortable going swimming.
- Abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
