About The Position

Come join us at People Creating Success and explore communities, enrich passions and be a positive impact in other people’s lives as a Direct Support Professional in our supported living service program for adults with disabilities! This role involves supporting participants with daily living skills, encouraging healthy habits, assisting with community participation, and providing personal care. The position is located in Burbank & Glendale and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• Someone who is compassionate with a person-centered mindset
• Someone who has a warm, respectful, and professional demeanor
• Someone who is capable of communication with dignity and respect, especially during challenging moments
• A valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation
• Bilingual
• Okay with working with participants that smoke
• Professional experience with behaviors
• Responsible, and can document goal progress tracking with detail
• CPR / First Aid certification (Training will be provided if applicants are not certified or need to be recertified)

Nice To Haves

• DSP 1 & 2 certification (preferred, applicants who are not yet certified can take advantage of our internal certification programs)
• Weekend Availability (Is a plus but not required)

Responsibilities

• Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, budget management, and light household duties
• Following care plans and helping participants achieve their personal goals
• Encourage healthy habits, studies, hobbies, and social activities
• Assist participants access and participate in community activities
• Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required)
• Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant, staff and management
• Document shift and communication logs
