About The Position
People Creating Success (PCS) is seeking a Direct Support Professional / Personal Attendant for their supported living & independent living service programs in Santa Maria. This role focuses on empowering adults with developmental disabilities to participate in career, educational, and life goals. The position involves supporting participants with daily living skills, encouraging independence, assisting with community activities, and providing personal care. PCS has been a leader in providing services for adults with developmental disabilities for over 20 years, aiming to improve and change lives.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Responsible, and can assist in goal progress tracking
- CPR / First Aid certification (Training will be provided if you’re not certified or need to be recertified)
Nice To Haves
- Weekend Availability (Is a plus but not required)
- Someone who is compassionate with a person-centered mindset
- Someone who is capable of communication with dignity and respect, especially during challenging moments
Responsibilities
- Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, and budgeting
- Encourage and model independence, hobbies, and social activities
- Assist participants access and participate in community activities
- Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required)
- Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant
- Record progress of care plan
