About The Position
A 22-year-old male in the City of Syracuse is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with skills for independent living, being active in his community, and interact with other members in the community. He enjoys going into the community for shopping, getting lunch, and grocery shopping. He also enjoys going to parks to walk and practicing baseball for his team, the Challengers. He would like to try new activities in the community. The ideal candidate is active, willing to participate in activities along with him, engaging and willing to travel to different locations. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
- New York State Driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Proof of auto insurance
- Acceptable driving record
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community
- Effective communication and organizational skills required
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with disabilities preferred
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred
