About The Position

iHome Care Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Direct Support Professional Level 3 (DSP3) to join our residential services team at our Mount Oliver location. This position is ideal for a tenured, highly skilled professional with extensive experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral needs in a residential setting. The DSP3 provides direct care, behavioral support, crisis intervention, medication administration, transportation assistance, and leadership-level support while ensuring the health, safety, dignity, and independence of the individuals served. Candidates must possess strong behavioral management skills, crisis intervention training, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in high-responsibility environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Direct Support Professional or related human services role
  • Extensive experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral support needs
  • Crisis intervention and behavioral management training required
  • Medication administration certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to safely transport individuals in the community
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in crisis or behavioral situations
  • Willingness to actively engage individuals in community participation and meaningful activities

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and specialized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting
  • Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and mobility support
  • Administer medications in accordance with agency policy and medication administration training
  • Prepare meals and assist with household tasks including cooking, cleaning, laundry, and housekeeping
  • Transport individuals to appointments, community outings, work programs, day programs, and recreational activities
  • Promote independence and encourage participation in home and community activities based on individual preferences and goals
  • Participate in the implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs)
  • Utilize behavioral support techniques and crisis intervention skills when necessary
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals and staff at all times
  • Observe, document, and report changes in behavior, health status, or physical condition
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation each shift, including: Observed notes, Goal tracking, Medication records, Petty cash documentation, Incident reporting
  • Foster positive interactions, communication, and decision-making support with individuals served
  • Maintain effective communication with all levels of administration and team members
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, state regulations, and compliance standards
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education sessions
