About The Position

Join The Arc of San Diego as a Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP III), where you'll play a key role in fostering independence, promoting skill development, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients in our Day Program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 30+ college units in social services or related field (OR 4+ years of extensive related professional experience)
  • 18+ months experience providing direct support to individuals with disabilities
  • Strong knowledge of client rights, service coordination, and program development
  • Valid California Driver’s license, current auto insurance, and acceptable DMV driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using electronic case management systems
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish)
  • A passion for community inclusion and advocacy

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and coaching to DSPs, ensuring high-quality client support
  • Developing and implementing Individual Support Plans (ISPs) to foster skill-building and independence
  • Designing and delivering lesson plans and structured training for clients
  • Supporting community integration by identifying job, training, and volunteer opportunities
  • Monitoring and reporting client progress and behavioral support plans
  • Ensuring compliance with Community Care Licensing, Title 22, and Title 17 regulations
  • Maintaining accurate client records, reports, and documentation
