About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Direct Support Professional Lead (DSP Lead) to provide leadership and direct care support for adults with developmental disabilities in residential, community, and/or day program settings. This role combines hands-on care, staff supervision, and program coordination to ensure individuals receive high-quality, person-centered services that promote independence, dignity, and community integration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1–2 years of experience in a group home, caregiving, or developmental disabilities setting preferred
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Basic to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, documentation systems)
  • CPR / First Aid
  • Medication Administration Training
  • De-escalation/ Behavioral Intervention Training

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
  • Develop monthly staff schedules and maintain required staffing ratios per DBHDD and organizational guidelines
  • Monitor staff performance and ensure completion of required documentation
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and follow-up with team members
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) including grooming, hygiene, meals, and mobility
  • Support communication, social skills, and independence
  • Provide transportation to appointments, community outings, and activities
  • Implement and support Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
  • Participate in ISP, IDT, and team meetings
  • Assist individuals in setting and achieving personal goals using person-centered tools
  • Assist with medication administration and monitor for side effects
  • Follow dietary guidelines and monitor food intake
  • Implement de-escalation techniques and respond to behavioral needs
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation and reports
  • Ensure compliance with DBHDD, DHS, and company policies
  • Report incidents, medication errors, and safety concerns promptly
