About The Position
InReach is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) as an Independent Contractor to provide Community Living and Support and Respite Services for a male individual with developmental disabilities in the Charlotte area (28215). This role involves providing companionship, care, and support to help the individual identify and acquire valued social roles, facilitate community integration, and develop healthy social habits. The DSP will also dispense medication, monitor dosages, and transport/accompany the individual to various activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Valid driver's license
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population
Responsibilities
- Instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitoring dosages.
- Transport and accompany individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
