About The Position
Benhaven is looking for Direct Support Professionals to work for our Individual & Family Supports assisting individuals with autism in their homes and the community. We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic applicants to provide support to our individuals. Available positions listed below : Hamden/North Haven Part-Time: (23.5 hours) Mon & Tues 3p-9:30p; Saturday 8a-6:30p Hamden/North Haven Part-Time: (11 hours) Thursday 3p-8p & Sunday 9a-3p
Requirements
- Must have experience working with individuals with autism.
- Must be able to pass a variety of background checks.
- Must have a CT driver's license.
- Applicant must have a registered and insured vehicle that can pass a safety inspection.
Nice To Haves
- Will train in PMT (physical management training) and CPR, if not already certified.
Responsibilities
- Work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and possibly their families
- Encourage building skills for independence
- Encourage and assist in increasing socialization
- Encourage and assist individuals with the pursuit of vocational opportunities
- Assist and provide opportunities for individuals to participate in recreational activities
