This position provides treatment, care, and training of individuals in their care, transports residents on and off campus to designated areas such as classrooms and various medical/dental appointments. Under the direct supervision of the Residential Director this position: Drives a vehicle on/off campus to transport individual(s) to various destinations and doctors' appointments. Performs light maintenance on vehicles such as checking brakes, cleaning vans, and straightening Q'straints. Practices safety rules as they apply to the operation of the vehicle such as using Q'straints on the adaptive van. Performs DSP duties to include but not limited to assisting with the needs of the consumers, transporting consumers to other events not related to a doctor appointment, working overtime as needed, and other duties as warranted. Responsible for reporting significant events and suspected abuse immediately per agency policy and procedures. Responsible for following all Agency policies and procedures and may be required to perform additional duties as required. The position for this posting is located at Coastal Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Summerville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In accordance with the State’s Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster. This position is eligible for up to $3.50/hour shift differential for applicable shifts! Sign-on bonus for eligible candidates will be distributed after three, six, nine, and twelve months of successful continuous Full-Time employment.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • A valid SC Driver's License.
