About The Position

We are currently seeking a Direct Support Professional I (DSP I) to join our Residential Services team. As a DSP I, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities by providing support, encouragement, and guidance as they work toward greater independence. You’ll help individuals build life skills, participate in their communities, pursue their goals, and experience the everyday successes that make life rewarding. Requirements

  • Must have the ability to work effectively in a group home, home-like setting.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for extended periods.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • DMV record must be submitted with application.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, person-centered support with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Encourage participation in daily activities, community experiences, and opportunities that promote independence and personal growth.
  • Monitor individuals’ health and well-being and assist with health care-related needs as appropriate.
  • Plan, prepare, serve, and assist with meals while supporting individuals in developing everyday cooking and nutrition skills.
  • Shop for groceries and assist with household and meal-planning needs.
  • Accompany and support individuals during scheduled medical and community appointments.
  • Accurately document services provided, activities, and relevant observations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs and goals of the individuals served.
