About The Position

ARISE is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a nonverbal young boy, 15 years old, in the Syracuse, NY area. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is energetic, open-minded, respectful, and dedicated to engage in activities with him in the community. The DSP will assist him in developing social skills, learning to complete his ADLs, and teach him safety skills. The DSP will encourage and assist him with overall health, safety, and daily living activities, while providing 1:1 service to ensure his safety. This is a per diem position.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule.
• Reliable transportation to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
• Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be completed prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities
