About The Position

At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), our mission is rooted in empowering individuals and strengthening communities. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals living in our group home in Raleigh, NC. This is a part-time position, working Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 8 pm. The role involves providing care in the individual's home and community, assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, and potentially transporting clients to appointments and running errands. Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

A High school diploma or GED is required
Basic housekeeping knowledge
Basic nutrition knowledge
Knowledge of safety protocols
Interpersonal skills
Attention to detail
Dependability
Proficiency with EHR systems or technically savvy to learn
Reliable transportation
Current auto insurance

Nice To Haves

Entry-level experience is acceptable as on-the-job training is provided

Responsibilities

Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning
Assist with personal care such as bathing and dressing
Provide employment support
Transport the client to appointments and run errands
Help plan and organize their schedule
Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
