About The Position

Premier Community Supports is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who provide high-quality, person-centered care to Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities through in-home and community-based services, including day programs, positive behavior support, and 24-hour residential assistance. We partner closely with families, guardians, case managers, and other caregivers to deeply understand the Individual's needs and goals. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check (Per state requirements, Oregon OARS).
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle (if transportation duties apply).
  • Access to a smartphone (for documentation, communication, and timekeeping).
  • Able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification (training provided if needed).
  • Willingness to complete required annual training (minimum 24 hours).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 6 months of experience working with the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities community or 1 year of caregiving/related experience.
  • Comfort with animals (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Build a person-centered, supportive relationship with the individual and provide care that aligns with their Individual Support Plan (ISP).
  • Promote autonomy and choice: support the individual in exercising their rights and making decisions about their own life.
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting as needed and assist with household tasks (laundry, dishes, vacuuming, tidying).
  • Collaborate with the individual, their family, and the support team to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Facilitate community involvement: assist the individual in planning and attending social, recreational, and appointment-based activities according to their preferences.
  • Support budgeting, shopping (groceries and other items), and meal preparation when needed.
  • With appropriate training, administer medications or support medication protocols.
  • Identify and report any incidents or changes in the individual's health, behavior, or circumstances, and maintain required documentation in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide transportation (in a personal vehicle if needed) for errands, community outings, or appointments.
  • Adapt to schedule variations (day, evening, night shifts; weekends) to meet the individual's needs.
