Hiring immediately for- Mon-Fri 4p-12a Job Objective As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll ensure the health, safety, support, care, and services of the residents at our newly opened Adult Residential Facility with memory care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities- the first of its kind in LA County!

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Word; able to send/receive emails).
  • Current or obtainable CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Dependable: arrive on time and work through the end of shift.
  • Follow directions from a supervisor and accept training guidelines.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with co-workers; clear verbal and written communication.
  • Receptive to constructive feedback and able to apply it.
  • Able to remain free of conflicts of interest—or report them promptly.
  • Must avoid complications with outside agencies (e.g., IHSS or other care organizations).
  • Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Able to pass state and federal background checks and Live Scan fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate supervision, instruction, and assistance—always with personalized care and empathy.
  • Prioritize safety while responding to participants’ needs with respect.
  • Use People First Language in all interactions with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with clients, families, and staff.
  • Support daily living activities: bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, and toileting.
  • Engage residents through conversation, companionship, and meaningful activities.
  • Promote independence and preserve dignity in every interaction.
  • Help prepare meals.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to keep living spaces clean and comfortable.
  • Report unusual incidents or behaviors promptly to a manager.
  • Administer medications as outlined and for which you are trained.
  • Keep the environment safe and hazard-free.
  • Provide supervision, instruction, and assistance as required by each Individual Program Plan (IPP) or manager direction.
  • Supervise and participate in individual and group outings.
  • Drive residents to and from appointments and outings as assigned.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete required trainings.
  • Able to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
