About The Position

The Arc Carroll County is seeking compassionate and dependable PRN (on-call) Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in our Community Living residential homes. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience
• Clean driving record, criminal background, and drug screen required
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to complete required trainings including CPR, First Aid, and Med Tech Certification
• Ability to assist with a variety of personal care needs
• Ability to lift and assist individuals with mobility needs
• Ability to frequently stand, bend, push, pull, and reposition individuals
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and wheelchair securement
• Ability to use lifts and mobility equipment including Hoyer lifts

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting individuals with disabilities preferred

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily living skills and personal care
• Supporting meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping
• Administering medications (paid training provided)
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities
• Completing documentation accurately and timely
• Promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion
• Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents
