About The Position

TURN Community Services in Salt Lake County, is looking for compassionate, motivated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). In this role, you'll make a real difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities-supporting independence, growth, and community inclusion. As a DSP, your role will vary depending on the program, but your impact will always be significant. Day Program DSPs (weekday, daytime hours): You'll support individuals in developing life skills and independence through activities such as self-care, hygiene, arts and crafts, vocational training, and community engagement. You'll help individuals build social skills, manage behaviors, and participate meaningfully in their daily routines. Accurate documentation and attention to health and safety are key parts of your role. Residential DSPs (afternoons, evenings, weekends, overnights): You'll assist individuals in their homes with daily living activities including meal preparation, medication support, hygiene, transportation, and housekeeping. You'll also help teach important life skills such as budgeting, relationship-building, and decision-making. By modeling positive behaviors and offering consistent support, you empower individuals to live as independently as possible. In both settings, you'll serve as a mentor, advocate, and role model-helping individuals build confidence, develop skills, and experience a higher quality of life. Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Patient, kind, and dependable
  • Ability to keep things professional while still being human
  • Strong communicators with good interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, calm under pressure, and team-oriented
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable personal vehicle with the ability to transport individuals when needed
  • Ability to drive larger vehicles for some positions
  • Genuine passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Must be able to pass a background check upon hire.
