About The Position

Direct Support Professional (DSP) A Great Opportunity / $17.75-$18.75 per hour -- At ViaQuest Healthcare Central we provide quality support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities in our intermediate care facilities (ICF / Group Homes). Those who are interested in starting a career in healthcare. Those interested in gaining more experience in the IDD field. Nursing assistants and those interested in pursuing a career as an STNA. Those who want to gain experience while taking classes or those without a degree. Candidates of all ages (high school graduates - retirees). Paraprofessionals, Caregivers, STNAs, CNAs, Personal Care Aides, Home Health Aides (HHA), nursing students!

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and car insurance.
• Motor Vehicle Record Must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria
• Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the field of developmental disabilities or direct care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities – our goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that their health and safety needs are being met at all times.
• Administering site training to new hires.
• Assisting with shift coverage as needed.
• Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life.
• Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Providing personal care assistance.
• Companion care / Caregiving
