About The Position

We are seeking a Full Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands-on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning. Support a man in the Columbia area with activities at home and in the community. Fun loving, funny man would like someone to help him work on independent living skills around the home (meals, cleaning up, laundry, etc.) and getting out in his community. Loves to visit the local high school where everyone knows him, attend sporting events, concerts, parks and rec activities, and find new things to do. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life. DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by: Assisting with participation and exploration of the community Cultivating and expanding independent living skills Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals.

Requirements

Eligible candidates must have a high school degree/GED and a current driver’s license with less than three points on the driving record.
Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life.
