About The Position

This Direct Support Professional (DSP) position is within Residential Services, focusing on supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. The role involves assisting individuals with their daily needs, teaching essential life skills, fostering independence, and ensuring a safe and enriching home environment. The current open schedule is part-time, less than 20 hours per week, specifically on Thursday and Friday from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, located in Liverpool, PA. The compensation starts at $19.00 per hour, with the potential to increase to $19.75 per hour for those holding NADSP DSP certification(s). Additionally, an extra $1 per hour is provided for eligible 2nd shift and weekend hours.

Requirements

  • Entry level, training provided (some positions require experience, read schedule carefully)
  • A valid driver’s license and 6 months driving experience
  • 18 years of age
  • Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the English language

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Personal Care Aide, Caregiver, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Direct Care Worker experience
  • Knowledge of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with daily living needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, use of adaptive equipment, and providing transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings (training provided)
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and life-skill development
  • Build trusting, respectful relationships through effective communication
  • Follow individualized support plans and document progress
  • Assist with health and safety needs, including medication support and monitoring
  • Promote meaningful activities, community involvement, and strong social connections
