About The Position

Empowered Services delivers individualized, one-on-one support in home and community settings for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our mission is to provide dependable care that promotes independence, builds life skills, and helps individuals stay meaningfully connected to their communities. Our Direct Support Professionals deliver reliable, routine-based care that emphasizes safety, skill-building, and clear, supportive guidance. We are currently seeking a reliable, compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide early morning support for a child in a foster home setting. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and can provide consistent structure, gentle guidance, and attentive supervision. The child thrives in an environment that is calm, predictable, and supportive. You will be supporting a kind, energetic child who: Benefits from clear routines and structured mornings Enjoys interactive play, reading, and outdoor time Requires close supervision and proactive support Responds well to calm, patient redirection He does best with a provider who can create a steady, reassuring environment while helping him successfully transition through his morning routine.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Current auto insurance
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • OIS (Oregon Intervention System) certification (or willingness to obtain during training)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children or in caregiving roles
  • Background in behavioral support or IDD services
  • Strong patience, consistency, and communication skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification

Responsibilities

  • Assist with morning routines and daily structure
  • Provide active supervision to ensure safety
  • Support transitions (wake-up, meals, preparing for the day)
  • Engage in age-appropriate play and activities
  • Use calm, supportive strategies to assist with emotional regulation
  • Maintain a predictable and organized environment
  • Communicate effectively with caregivers and care team
