Your Role in Our Mission As a DSP in our EMPOWER Recreation Program, you will: Support children in learning and increasing skills related to independence, including self-help, social, recreational, and community engagement. Assist with daily program needs while ensuring safety, health, hygiene, and nutritional standards are met. Participate in all scheduled program activities, including after-school sessions, teacher workdays, and summer programming. Lift and transfer individuals as needed. Serve as a Vehicle Monitor and/or Driver, ensuring safe transportation during field trips, outings, and daily travel to and from the program site. Provide accurate, timely documentation of activities, interventions, and incidents to meet compliance and reporting standards. Why Join Us? Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary: $18.00 hourly ($12.00 training rate) Flexible scheduling Skill-building & growth opportunities What We’re Looking For Education: High School diploma or GED required Experience: Preferred: 2+ years working with children with developmental disabilities, in daycare, or youth recreation Skills: Strong interpersonal skills Dependability and attention to detail Ability to support behavioral and developmental needs Knowledge: Basic safety, hygiene, recreation, and child engagement strategies Technology: Able to complete documentation and learn agency systems Transportation: Valid, unrestricted driver’s license Reliable transportation & current auto insurance Willingness to transport participants in agency vehicles (van/mini-bus) Join a team where work isn’t just something you do — it’s a purpose.
