DSP Employment Skills (Drivers) - Bronx
About The Position
AHRC New York City is seeking Full-Time (35 hours per week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Bronx Day Program. This role involves working with participants to help them learn and develop social skills, daily living skills, and habits. DSPs will also accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities, and are responsible for completing progress notes and making entries into the daily log book. The position offers a pay rate of $18 per hour, with potential bonuses for driving status and program needs, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Requirements
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
Nice To Haves
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Drivers License for more than one year in good standing preferred
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.
