About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a vital role in assisting individuals with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and social integration within the community. This role involves close coordination under the guidance of the Program Director and adherence to the individual's specific Service Plan. As a DSP, you will be a crucial part of the mission, helping individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and community integration. Your positive energy and caring nature will brighten the lives of those you support. Your daily adventures will include empowering lives by assisting with personal care and daily activities, helping individuals achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. You will create fun experiences by engaging in meaningful activities that bring joy and enrichment. You will foster community connections by helping individuals participate in community events, appointments, and other activities that promote social integration. You will also assist with household tasks, ensuring a clean, safe, and happy home environment, and accurately record daily activities and observations to help create a complete picture of each individual’s progress.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED
Reliable transportation
A valid driver’s license
Current DMV Driving Record
Appropriate automobile liability insurance
Mandatory training and certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Behavior Intervention.
Successful completion of Criminal History and Central Registry background investigations.
Familiarity and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Protection of individuals' rights and prevention of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Cooperation in investigations and procedural meetings.
Maintenance of confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

One to six months of experience working with persons with disabilities is preferred.
