About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) – PRN Floater is a highly adaptable, mission-driven team member who provides coverage and support across multiple departments including Day Habilitation (Meaningful Day), Medical Day, and Youth Autism Services (YAS). This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy variety in their work, and are passionate about empowering individuals with disabilities across the lifespan. The PRN Floater ensures continuity of care, maintains program quality, and supports staffing needs organization-wide. As a PRN Floater, you are the bridge that keeps programs running smoothly. You step in where needed, bring consistency during staff absences, and help maintain participant stability and engagement across departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience supporting individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • CNA certification preferred for Medical Day.
  • RBT or behavior experience preferred for YAS.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and physically assist participants as needed.
  • Valid driver's license (if supporting community outings).
  • Strong adaptability and ability to transition between age groups and support levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centered direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs), Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), and care protocols.
  • Assist with personal care needs, mobility, feeding, and hygiene as required.
  • Facilitate structured activities, life skills training, and community integration.
  • Accurately complete daily documentation and data collection.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
  • Communicate professionally with families, supervisors, nurses, clinicians, and team members.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and safety standards.
  • Lead and support vocational, life skills, and social development activities (Meaningful Day).
  • Encourage independence and community participation (Meaningful Day).
  • Support daily routines and goal progression (Meaningful Day).
  • Assist nursing staff with delegated tasks (per certification and training) (Medical Day).
  • Monitor participant health and report changes immediately (Medical Day).
  • Provide hands-on support for individuals with complex medical needs (Medical Day).
  • Maintain infection control and safety protocols (Medical Day).
  • Implement behavior intervention strategies under supervision (YAS).
  • Support structured programming for youth with autism (YAS).
  • Utilize positive behavior supports and de-escalation techniques (YAS).
  • Collect behavioral data accurately and consistently (YAS).
  • Submit weekly availability.
  • Maintain minimum monthly shift requirements.
  • Be available for short-notice coverage when possible.
  • Attend required cross-training sessions across departments.
  • Maintain all required certifications and clearances.
