About The Position

At Dungarvin, we are a mission-driven team providing support services since 1976, dedicated to person-centered supports that allow individuals to live as independently as possible. This role involves working directly with people needing assistance, or living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs, across 15 states. The team is committed to making a real difference—one person, one voice, one choice at a time. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide hands-on care, assisting individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, all while fostering independence. You will also create a safe and welcoming environment, maintaining a clean and supportive space to help individuals reach their personal goals, and mentor and guide them through supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to achieve their aspirations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Passion for Helping Others
• Physical stamina to stay on your feet, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Basic computer skills for tracking progress and documentation.
• Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members

Responsibilities

• Provide Hands-On Care: Assist individuals with daily activities like personal care, meal prep, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, all while fostering independence.
• Create a Safe & Welcoming Environment: Maintain a clean, safe space that ensures comfort and support while helping individuals reach their personal goals.
• Mentor & Guide: Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations.
