About The Position

Join Dungarvin's mission-driven team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or Caregiver, where you will make a lasting impact every day. Since 1976, Dungarvin has been dedicated to providing person-centered supports that empower individuals to live as independently as possible. In this role, you will work directly with people who need assistance, including those living with intellectual or developmental disabilities or other complex medical needs. Operating in 15 states, the team is united by a commitment to making a real difference, one person, one voice, one choice at a time. This position involves providing hands-on care, assisting individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry duties, all while fostering independence. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that ensures comfort and support, helping individuals reach their personal goals. Additionally, you will mentor and guide individuals by providing supervision, positive reinforcement, and support to help them achieve their aspirations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Passion for Helping Others
• Physical stamina to stay on your feet, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Basic computer skills for tracking progress and documentation.
• Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members

Responsibilities

• Provide Hands-On Care: Assist individuals with daily activities like personal care, meal prep, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry duties, all while fostering independence.
• Create a Safe & Welcoming Environment: Maintain a clean, safe space that ensures comfort and support while helping individuals reach their personal goals.
• Mentor & Guide: Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations.
