About The Position

Dungarvin is a mission-driven team dedicated to meeting people where they are and working alongside them to provide person-centered supports that allow people to live independently as possible. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver, you will work directly with individuals in need of assistance, and/or living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Comfortable driving company vehicles
  • Person-centered, patient, and kind demeanor
  • Dependable, adaptable, and flexible
  • Observant and detail-oriented
  • Positive role-model and able to work on a team
  • Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment
  • Computer skills for documentation
  • 18 years or older
  • Successful background clearance
  • Good reading, writing, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities.
  • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Transport persons served using company vehicles or personal vehicles as required.
  • Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
