About The Position

As Adult Day Program Instructor, you will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by leading structured activities, teaching life skills, and promoting independence in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. This is a full-time position based in Oroville, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. Pay ranges from $17.00–$18.30 per hour, depending on experience. The role is hands-on and focused on direct support, skill-building, and meaningful engagement in both center-based and community-based settings. You will work closely with participants of varying abilities, ensuring services are person-centered, respectful, and aligned with each individual’s goals and preferences.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Must pass a post-offer pre-employment background check, non-arduous physical, drug/TB screen, and driving record check
Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, including no DUI convictions within the past five (5) years and no more than two (2) points on the driving record
Ability to work in various environments, including office and community settings
Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

Lead and facilitate daily activities including arts and crafts, music, games, exercise, cooking, and educational activities
Plan and support community outings and recreational activities
Encourage participation, engagement, and social interaction among clients
Teach and reinforce daily living skills such as self-care, hygiene, money management, communication, and problem-solving
Support individuals in building independence and confidence in everyday tasks
Adapt instruction to meet varying ability levels and learning styles
Provide hands-on support to individuals with IDD in a respectful and person-centered manner
Assist clients as needed with mobility, behavior support, and daily routines
Promote dignity, choice, and independence in all interactions
Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, attendance, and client progress
Complete required documentation in accordance with program and regulatory standards
Communicate client observations and concerns to supervisory staff
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure consistent and high-quality services
Follow program guidelines, safety procedures, and behavior support plans
Drive Arc vehicles to transport clients to community activities and outings as needed
Ensure safe transportation practices and supervision at all times
Other duties as assigned
