About The Position

DBIS is a not-for-profit agency located in the Bronx and Yonkers serving individuals with developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the implementation of Individual Service Plans, overall familiarity with individual needs, and active advocacy for all individuals in the Residence. Direct Support Professionals are expected to support each individual to establish functional independence in specific skill areas, implement individual's Residential Service Plan goals, objectives, and document their progress. Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's).

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to communicate effectively with people
Excellent analytical ability and organizational skills
Flexibility, poise, tact, and the ability to develop rapport with individuals of various backgrounds and positions
Must have a valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

1-2 years in the Human or Health services field
Preferred prior experience working in a residential group home setting
