Direct Support Professional DN-AH
About The Position
A 35-year-old woman in the Syracuse area is looking for a direct support professional to assist her with joining activities provided in the community that will help her connect with others and assisting her with money management skills. She can sometimes spend a lot of time inside her home and is hoping to have the opportunity to go out and explore all that the area has to offer. She is very open to trying new things, enjoys going to the movies, visiting local shops, hikes/trails, and going out for a bite to eat. She would like the opportunity to meet others and find friends to be with. This candidate should be welcoming and allow the individual time to warm up to them. The individual can be shy to new people, but once she gets to know them, she is very vocal about her interests. The candidate should be knowledge about all that the area offers and able to plan fun outings. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10:00am-3:00pm. Starting pay is $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
- New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.

- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.

Nice To Haves
- No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities
