About The Position

Dungarvin is a mission-driven team dedicated to providing person-centered support services that empower individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs, to live as independently as possible. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver, you will work directly with people in need of assistance, providing them with direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• Comfortable driving company vehicles to transport persons served as required
• Person-centered, patient, and kind
• Dependable, adaptable, flexible
• Observant and detail-oriented
• Positive role-model and able to work on a team
• Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment
• Computer skills for documentation
• 18 years or older
• Successful background clearance
• Good communication skills (reading, writing, and verbal)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities.
• Empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.
• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Transport persons served using company vehicles or personal vehicles as required.
• Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
