About The Position

Dungarvin is a mission-driven team dedicated to providing person-centered support services that enable individuals to live as independently as possible. This role involves providing direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities, with the goal of empowering them to live independently and comfortably while maintaining their dignity and respect.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required (due to transporting persons served).
  • Comfortable driving to transport persons served as required.
  • Some positions/locations may require your own personal vehicle and auto liability insurance based on the role.
  • Person-centered, patient, and kind.
  • Dependable, adaptable, flexible.
  • Observant and detail oriented.
  • Positive role-model for others and able to work on a team.
  • Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
  • Computer skills for documentation.
  • 18 years or older.
  • A successful background clearance is required as part of the onboarding/employment process.
  • Good communication skills (reading, writing, and verbal) are key.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with intense high behaviors, both verbal and physical.
  • Prior IDD, mental health, psychiatric, and/or security experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities.
  • Empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.
  • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene and more.
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
